Trade Classification: Non-Industrial, Water World, Low Population
Ridge is a water world of little economic value. Its oceans do not teem with life and it has little in the way of mineral resources. The atmosphere is heavily contaminated with an excess of nitrogen and phosphorus which cause ocean algae blooms that consume oxygen and leaves dead zones. Attempts to reseed the oceans have consistently failed and only the staff of the Khonsu Aquanautical Research Facility lived on Ridge. The Facility was wholly owned and ran as a subsidiary of the Ling-Standard Products Megacorporation but has for all intents and purposes been abandoned. With the Civil War that number has dwindled from several thousand down to less than a hundred.
